August 30, 1932 — September 7, 2012

Yvonne J. Burton was born on August 30, 1932 in Cisco, Texas. She passed away on September 7, 2012, shortly after her 80th birthday. Her husband Bill G. Burton preceded her in death in 1993.

Yvonne is survived by her three children, Sherron, Bill and Darryl as well as three grandchildren Deke, Jake and Kade. Bill and Yvonne were high school sweethearts and married in 1948. Bill and Yvonne moved stayed in East Texas for about 11 years after they married and then moved to the oil fields of West Texas. They lived the majority of their lives in Crane, Texas.
Yvonne was a professional homemaker and full-time mom to her three children and the occasional grandchild and family friend. She also worked in the Crane Independent School District cafeteria for several years after her children were grown. Yvonne was a lifelong football fan from the Crane Golden Cranes to the Texas Longhorns to her favorite NFL players Earl Campbell and Walter Peyton. Yvonne became such a presence at Crane High School daily football practices and weekly games that she earned the nickname "Coach." Coach Burton let many a Crane High football coach know when they were--and when they were not--doing a good job. She was a lifelong fan of Gone With the Wind." Her blood ran burnt orange. She made the best Thanksgiving stuffing ever. She is loved by her family immensely. She is dearly missed.
