Vicki Ranae Mintz

Vicki Ranae Mintz, 59, devoted wife, loving mother, and Granny from Iraan, TX went to be with our Lord and Savior on September 8th, 2022, while surrounded by her family and friends.

Vicki was born on February 7th, 1963, in Midland, TX to Dale and Patricia Whisnant where she was raised with her two brothers.

Vicki graduated high school from Charles Page High School of Sand Springs, OK in 1981. After graduation, she moved to McCamey, TX where she met her hero and love of her life Jerry Eddie Mintz. Jerry gave his best one liner when they met, “Hey, baby how old are you?” Her answer sealed the deal for him, the moment she spit out that response he knew she was the one for him. Vicki quickly answered with, “I’m 23… and a half.” He knew at the moment that smart mouthed came up with that quip, she was it for him. Vicki quickly came to realize that he was the one as well and they married in the back yard of Vicki’s family’s truck shop on October 24th, 1987. Together they raised 6 children and one grandchild. Over the years their family grew by 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Vicki spent her life working as a bookkeeper and office manager. She enjoyed crafts and writing but most of all she loved spending time with grandbabies.

Vicki didn’t know a stranger. She was known and loved by all. She accepted everyone she encountered and answered to the names “Momma” or “Granny” to all those in her life.

Vicki was an avid prayer warrior and created a weekly devotional group called “Granny’s Corner.”

Vicki is proceeded in death by her parents, Patricia and Dale Whisnant, her oldest son, Jerry “Bubba” Mintz, and grandson-in-law, Zachary Joel Hastings.

She is survived by the love of her life and main squeeze, Jerry Eddie Mintz, of 37 years. Her two brothers: Ronald and Larry Whisnant. Her children: Royce “Kicker” Sharp II, Carroll Mintz, Amanda and husband David Krystofiak, Misty and husband Costa Ortega, and Shari Mintz. Her grandchildren: Seleah, Jerry-Lynn, Londynn, Lakota, Kaleb, Ranson, Randie, Ricky, Baylee, Blake, Bryce, Michael, Nathanael, Malachi, and Alyzea. Her great grandchildren: Elijah, Zoey, Eddie, Taylor, Lazarus, Holden, and Aston.

We take comfort in knowing that she is rejoicing in heaven.

A famous Vicki quote to live by: “May God guard your heart and guide your steps always.”
