Rosalio Vasquez Montejano 63, of Iraan, was called home to the the Lord peacefully on Saturday, March 7th, 2015 in Iraan, Texas. He was born in Pecos County, Texas on September 4, 1951. He married Emily Garcia Montejano on August 27, 1980 in Iraan, TX.
Rosalio is survived by his wife, Emilia Garcia Montejano of Iraan, Son, Daniel Montejano of Iraan, TX.; daughters, Ludi Baiza and her husband Edgar Baiza Sr., of Odessa, TX., Michelle Montejano of Odessa, TX., Rebecca (Becky) Leal and her husband John Leal of Azle, TX., Rosa Barrera and her husband Oscar Barrera of Iraan, TX.; Brothers Jaime Aranga of San Angelo, TX., Rogelio (Indio) Gonzales of Odessa, TX., Rudy (Speedy) Gonzales of Odessa, TX., and Sister, Rosa Sandefur and her husband Steve Sandefur of Odessa, TX., 7 Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his son, Rosalio Garcia Montejano Jr., his brother Rolando Gonzales, his mother Santos Vasquez Montejano and his father Ben Montejano, his sister Amelia Fuentes and her husband Bisente Fuentes, and biological parents Francis Segura Gonzales and Dario Gonzales.
Rosalio (Chalio) retired from TXDOT in Iraan, TX after 27 years of service. He was currently employed by Leo and Sons of Iraan, TX. Rosalio was a kind hearted, caring and hard working man and always willing to give the shirt off his back to someone in need. He loved to see beautiful scenery, play lottery, and read lots of books of the world. Rosalio was a great family man and his memories will forever be remembered and he never met anyone he called a stranger. He had open arms for everyone.
The Rosary was held at 6pm on Monday, March 9th, at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Sheffield, Texas.
Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 10th at 10:00 a.m. at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Sheffield, Texas, with burial following at the Restland Cemetery in Iraan, Texas.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
