Ronald Dale Roberts

On Monday, May 23, 2022, Ronald Dale Roberts, loving husband and father of four children, passed away at the age of 75. Ron was born August 11, 1946, in Big Spring Texas. He is preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Darhleen Daniell (Hutson), his father, James Dean Roberts, and his son Michael Ray Hoffman.

Ron served in the Army National Guard from 1964 to 1970. He was in law enforcement for over 40 years, during this time he achieved a master certificate and served as a licensed peace officer over 20 years. He also continued his service as Constable for Upton County through 2012. Like many West Texas men, he worked his fair share of oil hauling until he was the age of 60. Ron cared about making a difference in people’s lives. He was proud to be in law enforcement. He had a sharp memory for details and a kind and friendly demeanor with the people he served. He often had a warm smile for others, and he loved a good joke. Many who knew him would describe him as sweet and caring. He was an adoring husband and a protective, loving father with a heart of gold.

Ron is survived by his wife of 42 years, Cheryl Ann Roberts, his three daughters: Natalie Johnson, Michelle Glenn, and Leana Tveitane. He is also survived by six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. We will all miss our beloved “papa” greatly.
