Robert Lee “Bob†Day, 72, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 22, 2015, at a Lubbock Hospital.
He was born on October 25, 1942, in Bolivar, New York. His family came to Texas in 1947 and stopped in Big Lake.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Crystal Day; one son, Brandon Lynn Day; one brother; and three sisters.
Bob is survived by his wife, Beverley of McCamey; one daughter, Darla Hines of McCamey; three sons, Robert Day Jr. and his wife Coral of Pleasant Farms, Shawn Day and his wife Hope of McCamey, Christopher Day and his wife Audri of San Antonio, and Guy Day and his wife Trena of McCamey; one brother, Keith Day of Lone Oak; two sisters, Beverly Mix of Lone Oak, and Guyla Greer of Lake PK; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
Bob loved life, loved his family, and enjoyed camping, fishing, and he loved to play his guitar which he had played all his life.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at the East Side Baptist Church in McCamey with Reverend Ernest Wall officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Clay Hines, Clint Day, Kyle Day, Kody Day, Kasey Day, and Tommy James. Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter and Holden Hines, Peyton and Jackson Hines, Landon Hines, and Zaiden Day.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
