Ricky Ray Meeks, 55, of Crane, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2016, at the Crane Skilled Nursing Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 2, 2017, at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home Chapel with Tommy Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the Crane County Cemetery with arrangements under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
Ricky was born on June 28, 1961, in Andrews, Texas. He had lived most of his life in Crane, and had worked in the oilfield. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Ricky enjoyed life and making people laugh. Throughout his illness, he never lost his sense of humor.
Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Ray and Odean Meeks; two sisters, Dena Ray Jackson, and Lena Faye Savage; and one brother, Jerry Wayne Meeks.
Survivors include two daughters, Lacie Ray Meeks of Florida, and Lindsey Nicole Meeks of Gainesville, TX; a sister, Peggy Tarpley and her husband Leon of Crane; and one granddaughter, Evelyn Grace Meeks.
