REVEREND GENOVEBO S. JUAREZ

McCAMEY: Reverend Genovebo S. Juarez, 88 of McCamey, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2008 at the Home Hospice House in Odessa.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 28, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in McCamey with Reverend Samuel Emiliano officiating. Burial followed in the Resthaven Cemetery with arrangements under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.

Reverend Juarez was born on January 3, 1920 in Hillsboro, Texas to Juan and Natalia Salazar Juarez. He was a longtime resident of McCamey, living there since 1952. He was a member of the El Buen Pastor Church where he had served as Pastor there for over 20 years. He also served as Pastor for 5 years in Grandfalls at the Spanish Baptist Mission Church, and 3 years in Crane at the Spanish Baptist Mission Church.

Survivors include his wife, Natalia Juarez of McCamey; two sons, Antonio Juarez and his wife Blasa of McCamey, and Genovebo Juarez, Jr. and his wife Rose of Odessa; six daughters, Grace Emiliano and her husband Samuel of Andrews, Maria Villegas and her husband Jose of Odessa, Silvia Striegler and her husband George, Dora Carrasco and her husband Elias, and Anjelica Avila and her husband Jacob, all of McCamey, and Susan Cadena and her husband Manuel, Jr. of Crane; a brother, Teodoro Juarez of San Antonio; and a sister, Catalina Gonzales of McCamey; 25 Grandchildren; 39 Great-Grandchildren; and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren.
