RAYMUNDO C. GONZALEZ, SR.
McCAMEY: Raymundo C. Gonzalez, Sr., 89 of McCamey, passed away on Friday, October 29, 2010 at the Odessa Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 31, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in McCamey with Pastor Raymond Almaraz officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of McCamey.
Mr. Gonzalez was born on January 27, 1921 in Mexico. He had lived in McCamey since 1986. He was a member of the El Buen Pastor Baptist Church in McCamey where he served as a Deacon. He also served as the treasurer for the Hispanic Baptist Convention.
Survivors include his wife Catalina Gonzalez of McCamey; his children, Raymundo Gonzalez, Jr. of Odessa, Maricella Reyes of San Antonio, Amelia Perez, and Maria Ellena Medina both of Houston, Jesus Gonzalez of Juarez, Mexico, Raul Gonzalez of Houston, and Pedro Gonzalez of Corpus Christi; 29 grandchildren; and 66 great-grandchildren.
