McCAMEY: Porfidia Gomez, 77 of McCamey, passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at her home in McCamey.
Rosary/wake services will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in McCamey. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 7, 2010 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery in McCamey. Arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols funeral home of McCamey.
Mrs. Gomez was born on May 14, 1932 in McCamey, Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pedro Gomez; and two sons, Thomas Anthony Gomez, and Pedro Gomez, Jr.
She is survived by four sons, Jessie Gomez, Joe Gomez, and J.J. Gomez all of McCamey, and Paul Martinez of Big Spring; two daughter, Mary Ramirez and Lesa Gomez both of McCamey; a brother, Henry Reyes of Odessa; and five sisters, Amelia Martinez, Syleia Urias, and Ester Cano all of Coahoma, TX, and Mary Ann Kilpatrick and Stella Esparza both of Odessa; 15 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
