MILDRED TOMLINSON
CRANE: Mildred Tomlinson, 101 of Crane, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at the Crane Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at the Crane County Cemetery with Reverend Blaine Wimberly officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
Mrs. Tomlinson was born on August 17, 1908 in Decatur, Illinois. She married Edward Tomlinson on February 14, 1931 in St. Louis, MO. She and her husband moved to Crane a few days later and he went to work for Gulf Oil Company. She was a homemaker and a member of the Eastern Star in Crane for many years while her husband was a member of the Masonic Lodge. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed working word puzzles. Mrs. Tomlinson was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Tomlinson on January 4, 1983.
Survivors include three sons, Darrell Tomlinson of Odessa, Don Tomlinson of St. Louis, MO, and David Tomlinson of Wolfe City, TX; three grandchildren, Lisa Sorge of England, Amy Boyse of Texas, and Barry Tomlinson of Odessa; and two great grandchildren, Andrew Tomlinson of Odessa, and Ava Boyse of Texas.
