Mary Eva Jones Strickland, 96 of Burnet and formerly of Crane, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021, in Burnet, Texas.
Mary Eva was born on November 1, 1924, in Breckenridge, Texas. She was a longtime resident of Crane and had moved in Burnet in 2012.
Mary Eva had worked at the funeral home in Crane for many years. She had managed the facility dating back to Jacobson-Westbrook Funeral Home, then for Larry Sheppard and Richard Box Funeral Homes.
Mary Eva loved to read her Bible and spend time visiting with her friends. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Burnet.
She was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Chris Jones; and husbands Durwood Walter Jones and Hugh Strickland.
Mary Eva is survived by her son, Durwood Jones and his wife Jackie of Buchanan Dam, Texas; two grandsons, Michael Chris Jones and his wife Tara of Midlothian, Texas, and Jon Jason Jones of Livingston, TX; four great grandchildren, Kailee, Bryce, Brenden, and Allison; and 7 great great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home Chapel with Ronald Warren officiating.
