Mary "Janie" Lewis

Mary “Janie” Lewis, 64, of Odessa, and formerly of Crane, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2014, at the Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.
The family will be receiving friends at the Shaffer-Nichols funeral home in Crane on Friday, January 24, 2014 from 5pm until 7pm. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, January 25, 2014 in the Shaffer-Nichols Chapel in Crane.
Janie was born on January 15, 1950, in Prescott, Arizona. She married D. L. Lewis on March 4, 1971 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was a homemaker and had lived in Crane since 1981, moving to Odessa in 2004. Janie loved her grandchildren and they were a big part of her life. She was a Christian. Janie was preceded in death by her parents, Loren and Donita Oakley; her sister, Kay Hess; a nephew, Billy Hess; and a niece, Pam Zimmerman.
Survivors include her husband, D. L. Lewis of Odessa; three sons, Chris Lewis and his wife Carina of Crane, Chadd Lewis of Midland, and Eric Lewis of Odessa; two daughters, Kelli Moorehead of Mason City, Iowa, and Stephanie Lewis of Houston; three brothers, Tom Oakley of Shellsburg, Iowa, Pat Oakley and Joe Oakley, both of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and 10 grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Mission Messiah in Odessa, Texas.
