MARY ALICE HELMERS
RANKIN: Mary Alice Helmers, of Rankin, passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2010. She was born in Halletsville, Texas, to Anton and Faustina Vasquez.
Survivors include her husband: Luke Helmers of Rankin, two sons: John Paul Vasquez and wife, Mary of San Antonio, and Junior Delgado of Ft. Collins, Colorado, and one daughter: Mary Pruett and husband, Mike of Rankin. Her siblings: Joe Vasquez and wife, Daisy, of Aransas Pass, TX; Louis Vasquez of Rankin; Janie Rodriquez and husband, Veto of Edinburg, TX; and Patricia Gonzales of Rankin. She had 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, and with on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson, John Paul Vasquez, Jr.
She enjoyed gardening, watching Elvis Presley movies, jigsaw puzzles, spending time with her grandchildren, and could carry a conversation with anyone!
Pallbearers will be David Black, Pete Deanda, Kermit Watson, Clint Templeton, George Ferguson and Tom Lindsey. Honorary pallbearers will be J Helmers and Perry Helmers.
Rosary to be held Thursday, July 1, 2010 at 6:00 pm at the Rankin Park Building. Graveside services will be Friday, July 2, 2010 at 10:00 am at the Rankin Cemetery.
