Mary Elizabeth Gunnells

September 3, 1949 — August 13, 2008

McCAMEY: Mary Elizabeth Gunnells, daughter of Joy Moody and the late Sid Moody of McCamey, was born September 3, 1949 in McCamey. Surrounded by her Family she entered the Kingdom of Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior on August 13, 2008. Her last breath on Earth was her first breath in Heaven. She was a gracious, loving and caring Wife, Mother, Grammy, Daughter, Sister, Aunt and Friend. She was the type of person who never met a stranger and was always well remembered by those whose lives she touched, which were many.
Just to show what a kind person She was, I would like to share a few words she left us with... "To My Beloved Family....As to my service I want all of you to dress casual, comfortable and colorful. Jesus did not stand on pomp and circumstance and neither do I. I want this to be a Celebration of My Life and not a depressing occasion. I know that there will be sadness but try to remember the positive things in My Life and how Very Much I Love You All." Even until her last breath her first and foremost concern was for her Family. She always put God and everyone in her life first. She had the unique ability to always find the very best in everyone. She loved us all unconditionally and taught us that there is always a good in everyone and everything no matter what the circumstance. Although we know she is at Peace and with Her Lord and Savior, it is with heavy hearts that we say good-bye to this Woman of God who touched and will continue to touch our lives forever.
