MARVIN DACY

CRANE Marvin Dacy, 88, went to be with the Lord on Sunday September 27, 2009 with family by his side in Crane, TX.

The service will be held on Wednesday September 30th at 10:00 a.m. at Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home, 1503 S. Gaston Street in Crane with Pastor Mike Evans officiating.

Marvin was born on the farm April 24, 1921 in Calf Creek, TX to Julius Cornelius Dacy and Zora Bell Kolb. He had just returned from the war in 1946 and began working in the oil field in Crane, TX. He married Flora Inez McDougal on December 7th of that same year. He was County Commissioner Precinct 4.

Flora went to be with the Lord in February 1997. He remained in Crane and married Wini Lou Moore in January 2006. He could frequently be seen driving his motorized scooter around town picking up food at DQ or in the drive-thru at the Dug-Out. His family encouraged him often to avoid driving down Gaston Street on his scooter but he smiled and winking and did it his way. "He always did things his way." He was a faithful member and song leader of the Tabernacle Baptist Church and singing was the joy of his life. He had a special ability of touching everyone he came into contact with. He is loved and will be dearly missed by family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Wini Lou Moore Dacy of Crane; daughters Linda Faye and husband Anthony "Tony" Jones and Margie Nell Williamson all of Crane; four grandchildren, Tonya Jones Ortega of San Angelo, Jared Jones of Fairfield, IL, Glen Davis of Brady, and Chree Williamson of Lubbock.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers; J.C., Herman, Winfred, Brian, Marion, Dan, and Linn Dacy and wife Flora.
