Maria Consuelo Bustamante Vargas, 72 of Rankin, passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018, in Rankin.

Funeral Mass was held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at the Rankin Park Building in Rankin. Arrangements were under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of Crane.

Consuelo was born on December 11, 1945, in Mexico. She was a homemaker and a longtime resident of Rankin. Consuelo was a Catholic.
She sold blankets and bed covers to the public. Consuelo loved her flowers and potted plants, she had a talent for growing beautiful plants. She made excellent salsa every day, the old fashion way. She always took good care of her family and was always happy with a smile on her face. She loved to tell stories of her childhood and growing up in Mexico.

Consuelo is survived by her loving husband, Hilario Vargas of Rankin; two sons, Hilario Hernandez and his wife Debbie of Rankin, and Ludvic Bustamante of Fort Worth; a daughter, Rosala Bustamante of Fort Worth; two brothers, Crecencio Bustamante Arranda of Mexico, Fernando Bustamante Arranda of Georgia; three sisters, Maria Dionsia Bustamante Arranda of Mexico, Reyna Bustamante Arranda of Winnie, TX, and Eustolia Bustamante Arranda of Mexico; 5 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
