Luisa Melendez

Luisa Melendez, 87, of Odessa, passed away on Saturday morning, May 28, 2022, at her home.

Luisa was born on June 21, 1934, in Mexico.  She was a homemaker and member of the Church of Christ.   Luisa had lived in Odessa for 25 years.  She enjoyed gardening and tending to her beautiful flowers. Luisa loved spending time with her family and most of all taking care of her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lorenzo in 2005; her son in law, Luis Arias; and three children, Carmen Melendez, Jesus Manuel Melendez, and Miguel Angel Melendez.

Luisa is survived by five sons, Pascual Melendez, Victor Melendez, Arturo Melendez, Jesus Melendez, and Noe Melendez; two daughters, Maria Arias of McCamey, and Rita Melendez of Midland; 20 grandchildren; and 31 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home in Crane from 3:00pm until 9:00pm. Graveside services will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at the Resthaven Cemetery in McCamey.
