Linda Kaye Kennedy

Linda Kaye Kennedy, 80, passed from this life on Saturday November 26th, 2022 peacefully at home.

 

Linda was born in Wright City, Texas to A.W. and Garnett Kleam on August 10th, 1942.

Linda enjoyed sitting out on the front porch admiring her roses and watching the hummingbirds.

Linda received her GED in the late 1980’s and spent many years as a receptionist for Dennis Funeral Home and retired from McCamey Convalescent Center as a CNA in February of 2011.

 

Linda married Gene Kennedy on February 23rd, 1965. Together they shared and raised 6 children, 2 boys and 4 girls.  The couple met in The Bowling Alley where they spent countless nights as avid bowlers. Linda also enjoyed painting, crafting, and stitch work but the hobby she was most known for was her collection of over 400 cookie jars and salt and paper shakers. Her most favorable past time, and passion in life was spending time with those she loved most, especially her great grandchildren.

 

Linda is survived by son David Kennedy and wife Yolanda of Midland TX, Daughters Jackie Parker and husband Jeff of Gunsight TX, Tammy Kennedy, Hope Day and husband Shawn, Jeanie Prather and husband Paul all of McCamey, Jimmy Kennedy and wife Tammy of Midland TX, 2 bothers Jackie Kleam and wife Debra, Dale Kleam both of Denver City TX, 2 sisters Judy McMinn and Jan Mitchell both of Sundown TX, numerous nieces and nephews, 12 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by husband Gene, parents A.W. and Garnett Kleam, and brothers Lewis and Jim Kleam.

 

Visitation will be held Tuesday November 29th from 5PM- 8PM and Wednesday November 30th from 9AM-11AM followed by service at 3PM at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home in McCamey then laid to rest at the Resthaven Cemetery.
