LESTER L. YOUNG
ODESSA: Lester L. Young, 76 of Odessa, passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at the Home Hospice House in Odessa.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 21, 2011 at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mike Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Crane County Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of Crane.
Lester was born on October 15, 1934 in Austin, Texas. He was a Marine Veteran; and a longtime resident of the Permian Basin. He married Vanita Griffin on November 20, 1951 in Gaines County, Texas. Lester was retired from the Oilfield, and was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Vanita Young of Odessa; five sons, Jimmy Young and his wife Jean of Carlsbad, NM, Billy D. Young and his wife Kristy of Amarillo, TX, Gary Young and his wife Barbara, Danny Joe Young and his wife Larisa all of Odessa, and Steven Young and his wife Christine of Morrilton, Arkansas; one brother, Tim Young and his wife Mildred of Paris, TX;
11 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.
