Leonard Wallace "Son" Trammell, 80, of McCamey, passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018, in McCamey.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 30, 2018, at the Resthaven Cemetery in McCamey with Reneé Phillips officiating. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
Leonard was born on April 1, 1938, in Tolar, Texas. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Leonard worked in the oilfields as a cable tool operator before his retirement. He was a longtime resident of McCamey. Leonard was a Christian who loved to sing and worship the Lord. He sang every Sunday afternoon at the convalescent center in McCamey. Leonard loved to fish, enjoyed working on old lawnmowers, and was an avid reader.
Leonard was very tender hearted and loving. He was generous to anyone in need.
Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mittie Trammell; and his wife, Mary Maxine Trammell.
Survivors include his sister, Julia Davis and her husband Marlin of Odessa; a brother, Ross Trammell of McCamey; a niece, Debra Chastain and her husband Gary of Odessa, and a nephew, Dennis Athey and his wife Beverly of Livingston, TX; numerous great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.
