LEOLA CURRY
McCAMEY: Leola Curry, 85 of McCamey, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2010 at the Scenic Mountain Medical Center in Big Spring.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home Chapel in McCamey. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery with arrangements under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of McCamey.
Leola was born on October 16, 1924 in Ledbetter, Texas to Edward and Willie Lee Allen. Mrs. Curry was retired, and had worked as a medication aid; as well as working with the Senior Citizens group in McCamey. She was a member of the McCamey Book Club; and was a member of the Saints Assembly Church of God in Christ. Mrs. Curry was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Willie Lee Allen; two husbands, Hubert Lampkin and Elbert Curry; and seven brothers and sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Leatrice Brown and her husband Gussie, and Patsy Edmonds all of Big Spring; her grandson, Robert Duane Edmonds; and her great grandson, Robert Duane Edmonds II, both of Oakland, California; and numerous nieces and nephews.
