CRANE: Joyce Beatrice Young, 82, passed away on October 3, 2009 in McCamey, Texas.
She was born in Big Spring, Texas on November 2, 1926. She went to school in Crane, Texas, Jal and Eunice, New Mexico and Buena Vista in Imperial, Texas. She worked for West Texas Opportunities, Inc from 1975 - 1995 as the center's director. Joyce was a member of the Methodist church in McCamey.
Joyce is survived by her daughter Marilyn Steele and husband Ivan of Tomball; son William King and wife Linda of Rockwall; and Danny Young and wife Priscilla of Sherman; grandchildren Angela Welch and husband John of Spring; Leslie Demny of The Woodlands; Jeffery King of Houston; Tony King of Westchester, Ohio; Jessica Wilson and husband Jarrett of Sherman; and Brandon Young of Sherman. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Clayton Dean Kennedy, Ashton Warren, Ryan and Rylie Demny, Colton King, and Quinn Wilson.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Samuel Maurice Young and her sister Mildred Manning.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home in Crane, Texas.
