Irene Flores, 78, of McCamey, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2016, at the McCamey Hospital.
Rosary will be said at 7pm on Sunday, July 31, 2016, at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home Chapel in McCamey.
Graveside services will be held at 10am on Monday, August 1, 2016, at the Resthaven Cemetery with Deacon Felix Segura officiating. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
Irene was born on October 20, 1937. She was a homemaker and was a longtime resident of McCamey. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Irene was also a member of the American Legion. She loved being outdoors and working in her yard. She loved to dance, go fishing and most of all, she loved her family.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Mathias R. Flores; two brothers, Adrian and Antonio Garcia; and one sister, Ramona Molinar.
She is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Perez, and Melissa Flores, her son, Joe Herman Garcia; her companion of 21 years, Gerald Oestreich; five sisters, Clemencia Lopez, Manuela Ybarra, Lydia Hinojos, Minerva Mancha, and Genevieve Garcia; 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
