Hilario Hernandez Vargas

Hilario Hernandez Vargas, 92, of Rankin, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at his home.

Hilario was born on January 14, 1931, in Mexico.  He was a rancher and had lived in Rankin for over 31 years.  Hilario was a Catholic.

He enjoyed being outdoors and working in his yard as well as welding.  Hilario loved listening to old Mexican music.  His family was everything to him, especially his wife and son.  Hilario lived and long and happy life, with the help of his “medication”, his Bud Light.

Hilario was preceded in death by his mother, Dolores Vargas, and his wife, Consuelo Vargas. 

He is survived by his son, Hilario Hernandez and his wife Debbie of Rankin; his daughter, Rosa Bustamante of Fort Worth; a sister, Rosalia Baraza of California; and eight grandchildren, Esmeralda Martinez, Antonio Moncada, Gustavo Moncada, Jennifer Moncada, Jesus Ramirez, Yanellie Ramirez, Raquel Ramirez, and Marisol Ramirez.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, July 4, 2022, in the Rankin Cemetery Pavilion with Deacon Felix Segura officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of Crane.
