Gwen Phillips

Gwen Phillips of Rankin, Texas went to be with the Lord on October 19, 2013. She was born in Turkey, Texas on December 22, 1934 to Olan and Azeline Beauchamp.

She graduated High School from Lockney, Texas. After graduation she lived and worked in Amarillo for a short time before moving to McCamey, Texas where she worked for WTU for 15 years. During this time she met and married Larry Phillips the love of her life and husband of 56 years. They moved to Rankin in 1957. Her greatest joy in life was being "Grandma" to her granddaughters Brittnee and Logan. She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband Larry Phillips of Rankin; her son Byron Phillips of Rankin; daughter Renee Lee and husband Dane of Rankin; granddaughters Brittnee Sanchez and husband Jesse of Rankin, and Logan Lee of Rankin; sister JoBeth Wright of Bartlett, Texas; nephews Jeff Wright and wife Debbie; Michael Wright and wife Michelle; and numerous great nieces and nephews all of Bartlett, Texas.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at the Rankin Cemetery with Reverend Jennifer Kelley officiating. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of Crane.
