Georgia Lucille Moss Mrs.

On Saturday, June 20, 2020 at the age of 95, Georgia, went to be with our heavenly father. Georgia was born July 19, 1924 in Junction, TX to R.G & Grace Nance. Georgia was a Sonora High School Graduate then attended Sul Ross State Teachers College in Alpine. Georgia also volunteered with the USO. On April 28, 1946 she married Bill E.E. Moss in Carlsbad, NM & was married to him until his death in 1982. Georgia has been a resident of McCamey since 1951 & was a proud Badger Supporter. Georgia wore numerous hats while raising her children; room mother, Girl Scout leader, Cub Scout leader, babysitter but mostly known later for her many years as a volunteer at the McCamey Primary School. She was a member of the East Side Baptist Church for many years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Joe Nance, grandson Michael Shirley, nephews Cleveland Nance Jr & Joe David Nance & also her husband of 36 years, Bill Moss.

Georgia is survived by one brother Cleveland(Mildred) Nance of San Angelo; her children Lu(Ron) Shirley of Papillion, NE; Bob Moss, Sallye Greer, Tommy(Margie) Moss all of McCamey, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Shaffer Nichols Chapel in McCamey from 9am to 8pm on Wednesday, June 24, 2020. Funeral services will be held at 10am, Thursday, June 25, 2020 at the Shaffer Nichols Chapel in McCamey with interment to follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to the American Foundation for the Blind.
