Evelyn Diamond

August 30, 1939 — June 2, 2018

Evelyn Crawford Diamond, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, loving friend, dedicated Sunday school teacher, and Bible study leader went home to be with her Lord on June 2, 2018 in Odessa, Texas. She shared her faith in God with a deep love. She enjoyed feeding and housing everyone she could (especially visiting preachers, singers, and students). She loved reading, crafts, and western shows. She was born on August 30, 1939 in Crane, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Vertis “Lou” Diamond; son, Vertis Diamond Jr.; daughter-in-law, Johnnie Diamond; parents, Hiram Crawford and Ethel Edwards Crawford; brothers, Emmett, Henry, and Gary Crawford.

Evelyn’s greatest joys are those survived by her who include daughter, Beverly and Tony Strayer Carrollton, Texas and their children Kagan Strayer and Wen Wen Yang Addison, Texas; Andre Strayer Carrollton.
Son Kenneth Diamond and Debbie Moffett and his children and grandchildren, from Odessa, Texas. Teah and Cruz Palacio, children Kristal, Marcos, & Jadon Zavala; Adolfo and Mia Palacio. Jennifer Diamond and her children Josh and Nicole Diamond. Son Chris and Heather Diamond their son Nicholas.
Daughter-in-law Tina Schurbon Diamond Lewis from Diana, Texas and her children and grandchildren from Diana, Texas. Charity and Jodie Stark, children Audrey and Harrison from Diana, Texas; Josh and Dixie Diamond, children Isaac and Gage from Bullard, Texas; Gwen and Brad, children Anthony and Belle from Longview, Texas.
Brothers, Alford and Trudy Crawford from Kermit, Texas and Mickey and Debra Crawford from Bridgeport, Texas. Brother-in-law, James Diamond of Midland, Texas. Close friends, Joe and Teresa Figueroa from Crane, Texas. Many cousin, nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

A celebration of her life will be Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home in Crane, Texas. There will be a public viewing and visitation on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
