McCAMEY: Eva Venegas, 68 of McCamey, passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas.
Rosary will be said at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home Chapel in McCamey. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in McCamey. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery with arrangements under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
Eva was born on January 22, 1942 in Roseville, Texas. She had lived in McCamey for 38 years and was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She had retired as the assistant manager of the cafeteria for the McCamey ISD after 24 years of service.
She is survived by her loving husband, Hector Venegas, Sr. of McCamey; four sons, Eddie Venegas of Odessa, Hector Venegas, Jr. of Midland, Marc Venegas of McCamey, and Jerry Venegas of Houston; two daughters, Donna Venegas of Houston, and Monica Velasquez and her husband Tony of McCamey; her mother, Erlinda Casias of McCamey; three brothers, Robert Casillas of Bastrop, Pedro Casillas and Alex Casillas, both of Odessa; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
