Elidia Sanchez Martinez

Elidia Martinez, 83, of McCamey, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, in Odessa.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 24, 2016, at the Apostolic Church in McCamey with Reverend Luis P. Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.

Elidia was born on December 19, 1932, in Fort Stockton, Texas. She married Fred Martinez on July 4, 1949 in Fort Stockton. She was a homemaker and had lived in McCamey for 66 years. She was an active member of the Apostolic Church in McCamey. Elidia enjoyed cooking and she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to babysit with her grandchildren, and loved to going to church.
Elidia was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Martinez on October 2, 2009.

Survivors include her daughter, Viola Rodriguez and her husband Luis of McCamey; six sons, Steve Martinez of Odessa, Leroy Martinez and his wife Golla of McCamey, Noah Martinez and his wife Dora of Odessa, Hector Martinez of McCamey, Danny S. Martinez Sr. and his wife Lupe of McCamey, and Arthur Martinez of San Angelo; six sisters, Mary Lee Arana of Austin, Amelia Rodriguez of Odessa, Edna Marquez of Austin, Nancy Rubio of Conroe, Adelina Hernandez of McCamey, and Cecilia Arista of Crane; 17 grandchildren; and 36 great grandchildren.
