Eddie was born on October 3rd, 1960 in Robert Lee, TX and passed of natural causes on October 30th, 2017 near Stanton, TX.
He was raised by his mother Manuela A. Gonzales and Edwardo P. Gonzales in Robert Lee and Rankin, TX.
Eddie was preceded in death by his mother Manuela A. Gonzales, father Edwardo P. Gonzales, and sister MaryLou Trevino.
Eddie is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Sonia P. Gonzales in Iraan, TX; brother Johnny Gonzales in Kyle, TX; sister Beatrice Armendarez and brother-in-law Armando Armendarez in Rankin, TX; sister Nora Landin in Grand Prairie, TX; daughter Kendra Gonzales and fiancé Kevin Ramos and their children Christian Gonzales and Avery Ramos in Ft. Stockton, TX; son Cody Gonzales and partner Tyler Leech in Buda, TX; daughter Katie Gonzales in Iraan, TX; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Eddie was an active member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Iraan. He was also an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and was devoted to providing for his family, spending the majority of his adult life working long hours in the oilfield, sometimes getting home at 2 A.M. and waking back up just two hours later at 4 A.M. in order to give his family the best life that he possibly could, and never once complained about it. Eddie was happiest when he got to enjoy quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren, Christian and Avery. Eddie touched the lives of many and will be missed greatly by his many friends and family, but his memory will live on in our hearts forever.
Rosary will be held 7:00 pm on Friday, November 3, 2017 at the Iraan Civic Center.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Iraan.
Pallbearers will be Mark Abalos, Jose Luis, Javier Hernandez, Brian Stokes, Richard Armendarez, and Daniel Montejano. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
The family extends special thanks to Frankie Abalos, and Jimmy and MaryAnn Bagley.
