Edith Ratliff Roberts

Edith Ratliff Roberts, 87, of Iraan, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at the Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Iraan with Reverends Bobby Parmer and Mike Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the Restland Cemetery with arrangements under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
Edith was born on January 18, 1925 in Irene, Texas. She was a homemaker and had lived in Iraan since 2005, moving from Robert Lee. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Iraan. Edith loved seeing her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and little babies. Edith enjoyed joking with people; however her favorite pastime was fishing.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Loys (Bud) Roberts on March 29, 2007; one sister, Delia Mae; and five brothers, Lee, Doc, Ordral, Rufus, and C.D.
Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Samford of Houston, Brenda Hammontree and her husband Bobby of Gorman, and Betty Parmer and her husband Bobby of Iraan; six grandchildren, Kyle Samford and his wife Ann Marie, Shelby Foerster and her husband Rick, Shane Hammontree, Jennifer Hord, Corey Parmer and his wife Kathie, and Brian Parmer and his wife Carie; seven great grandchildren, Abby and Ethan Sproles, Chelsea and Austin Samford, and Chelsea, Brett, and Taylor Parmer. She is also survived by one sister, Sara Bryan of Odessa; one brother, Roy Ratliff of Arlington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to a very special niece, Carolyn Brigance and her husband Tom, for all the help and love they have shown mom and dad through the years.
