DENA R. JACKSON
CRANE: Dena R. Jackson, 70 of Crane, passed away on Thursday, May 06, 2010 at the Crane Memorial Hospital.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Crane with Reverend Tommy Parker officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
Dena was born on December 5, 1939 in Tahoka, Texas to Ray and Odean Bennett Meeks. She had lived in Crane for the past 13 years, and she was a Baptist. Dena loved to read, to can vegetables, doing Tri-Chem, and even laying carpet. She enjoyed her grandchildren and loved to travel. Dena was very witty, and was known for her excellent memory. She was kind hearted and would do anything for anyone. However, she was also known to be brutally honest..if you did not want to know, don't ask!
Dena was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister, as well as one nephew, and three grandsons.
She is survived by two sons, Doug Schwarz of Odessa, and Larry Schwarz and his wife Colleen of Chelsea, OK; two daughters, Sherry Daggett of Overton, NV, and Dedra Plummer and her husband Danny of Crane; her sister, Peggy Tarpley and her husband Leon of Crane; and a brother, Ricky Meeks, also of Crane; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, and nephews.
