Daniel was born in Abilene, Texas and grew up in Crane, Texas. He was educated in the Crane Independent School District, graduating in May of 2007.
Daniel was a unique and special young man. His ready smile and bright eyes brought joy to many, and he deeply touched the hearts of the people in his life. Daniel was a fighter. As he battled a lifetime of challenges, it was never in him to give up. However, the truly defining characteristic of Daniel was his unconditional love for his family. That love will live on in our hearts.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Billy Irl and Janie Butler, and his brother, Dustin Johns.
Daniel is survived by his mother, Cynthia Johns, his nephew, Jaxon Johns, his father, Dee Johns, his brothers Jason Johns, Justin Johns, Dustin DeBerry, Casey Johns, his sister, Jaclyn McCabe, and his uncle, Lee Butler.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Crane. Burial will follow in the Crane County Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
