CATHY ROUSSARIE
CRANE: Cathy Roussarie, 73 of Crane, passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at the Hospice House in Odessa.
Visitation will be held from 9AM until 8PM on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at the funeral home with the family receiving friends from 6pm until 8pm.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Crane with Reverend Dr. Dennis Parnell, Reverend Tommy Parker, and Audwin Gallion officiating. Burial will follow in the Crane County Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of Crane.
Cathy was born on August 2, 1937 in Ranger, Texas. She was a homemaker and had lived in Crane for 70 years. Cathy was known for her longtime commitment on the Hostess Committee at the First Baptist Church where she was longtime member. Anytime there was a death and the church was going to prepare a meal, you could expect a call from Cathy for you to bring food. She will also be remembered for her ministry in bringing food to those who were sick and homebound. Cathy enjoyed painting; she loved her church; her pets; but most of all her family.
Cathy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Alexander Joseph "Bud" Roussarie, III on August 13, 1996; her son, Mitch Wayne Roussarie on March 8, 1993; and her brother, Kenneth Acuff on May 20, 1992.
She is survived by her two sons, Rodney Roussarie and his wife Donna of Midland, and Lance Roussarie of Crane; her twin sister, Carolyn Lee and her husband Jimmy of Bronte; Daughter-In-Law, Shery Roussarie Purkeypile of Granger, Indiana; 4 grandchildren, Collin Mitchell Roussarie of Lafayette, Indiana, Riley Dale Roussarie, Jena Jean Roussarie, and Bowen Scott Roussarie all of Midland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Mitch Roussarie Scholarship Fund in care of Tim Bynum, P.O. Box 60766 - Canyon, Texas 79016.
