The cowboy rides away…
Carlos Peña Baiza, 70, of McCamey, Tx passed away June 19, 2023.
Carlos was born on July 27, 1952 in McCamey where he also raised his family.
He met his spouse in Ft. Stockton at a carnival on June 23, 1968, he would walk 42 miles to Ft. Stockton every chance he got to see the love of his life who he later married in 1969.
Carlos and Anita had 3 boys, 3 girls.
Carlos Jr. And wife, Anna Baiza and their children Edgar, Vincent, Jacinda, Carlos and Selena.
Melissa and her significant other, Guillermo and her children Marissa and Heather
Melinda and her husband, Billy Haun and their children Brandon, Meranda, Michael, Mia and Bella.
Jimmy and his children Donovan, isabel, Branlyn, Grayson.
Monica, Elijah and her late son RJ.
Gabriel and his wife, Julie and their children Adrian, Leksi, Galiliea, Bryssa, Aj and Sierra.
And 11 great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers are Carlos, Brandon, Donovan, Adrian, Michael, Branlyn, Colton, Elijah and Grayson.
Carlos was predeceased by his parents Feliciana and Augustine Baiza. He is survived by 2 brothers and 4 sisters. Augustine, Leandro, Juanita, Margie, Yolanda, and Rena.
His wife, Anita would always say he loved watching either the cowboys with the horses or the cowboys with the football. He enjoyed always riding around with his youngest grandchild, Elijah who they were never a stranger to anybody.
He worked many years in the oilfield which he would always talk about. His grandchildren most remembered when he would come home after a long day at work and he let them enjoy all the leftover goodies in his lunch pail.
He enjoyed his ranch where he had several animals Muneca, Bobo and all the chivos. He had so many goats at one time that he was able to name each and every one of them after each grandchild.
Carlos loved his family but even more he loved his faith in God. Carlos was a Christian man who attended church on the regular, he prayed for his family each and every one of them until the very last moment…
Carlos’ viewing and funeral will be held at Shaffer-Nichols funeral home in McCamey, Tx.
