Bobbie "Bob" Johnson

Bobbie "Bob" Johnson, 80, of Rankin, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at his home in Rankin.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 14, 2011, at the Rankin Cemetery with Reverend Matt Williams officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of Crane.
Bob was born on March 22, 1931, in Burkett, Texas. He was Veteran, serving in the Air Force. He moved to Rankin in 1970. Bob was a coach and a teacher for the Rankin ISD. He worked for Halliburton as a driving instructor and a safety man. He was a custodian for Upton County, retiring on April 30, 2003. Bob was also a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy J. Johnson on November 19, 2001. Bob was the last of his seven brothers and sisters who also preceded him in death.
He is survived by three sons, Bobby Johnson, Jr. and his wife Cecilia of Rankin, Ronny Gene Johnson of Athens, TX, and Randy Ray Johnson of Oklahoma; two daughters, Cathy Longenette and her husband Lowell of Bedford, TX, and Karen Kay Kilgore and her husband Kenny of Crowley, TX; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
