Betty Jo Kluthe

Betty Jo Kluthe, 91, of McCamey, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at the McCamey Convalescent Center.

Betty Jo was born December 25, 1928, in Ballinger, Texas. She had lived in McCamey most of her life. Her parents owned and operated the Matejosky Food Center in McCamey for many years until it was sold in 1983.
Betty was a homemaker and an excellent cook. She enjoyed gardening, always growing beautiful flowers. However, what she cherished most was spending time with family.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, E. F. and Elizabeth Matejowsky; her husband, Dale Kluthe, and brother Fredrick Matejowsky.

She is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth Ann Long and husband William, Sherrie Lee Moulton and husband David, and Denise Preston and husband Larry, all of McCamey; six grandchildren, Jason Menefee, Arianne Menefee, Philip Long, Christy Lavergne, Jared Kluthe, and Amber Westmoreland; and nine great grandchildren.

Viewing will be held on Sunday, October 11, 2020, from 2pm until 6pm at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home in McCamey. Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 12, 2020, at 11am at the Resthaven Cemetery in McCamey with Johnnie Blalack officiating.
