Benita J. Zuniga, 72, of McCamey, passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2018, in Odessa.
Rosary will be said at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home Chapel in McCamey. Services will be held in the Chapel at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 13, 2018. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery.
Benita was born on March 3, 1946, in Mexico. She was a homemaker, and a longtime resident of McCamey. Benita was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She loved singing, dancing, and playing gin rummy. Benita enjoyed family and family gatherings. She loved the annual Rock-Hard Jeep Fest where she was known as the Mother of the Club and it was her joy to cook for the event.
She was preceded in death by parents, Tomas and Maria Carmen Juarez.
Benita is survived by her loving husband, Ricardo Zuniga of McCamey; three sons, Ricky Zuniga of Odessa, Edward Zuniga of Kermit, and Martin Zuniga of Odessa; two daughters, Carmen Gonzales of Katy, and Anna Baiza of Odessa; two brothers, Cesario Juarez of McCamey, and Raul Juarez of Midland; one sister, Tomasa Gutierrez of McCamey; 18 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
