Ben Wayne Webb, 75, of Bakersfield, TX passed away on December 19th, 2022.

 

Ben was born on April 5,1947 to Gray and Mary Alice Webb in Crane, TX. Ben graduated from Crane High School in 1965 where he made many lifelong friends. Ben went on to graduate with an Animal Science degree from Sul Ross State University in 1969. After graduating college, Ben spent 2 years in the Army during the Vietnam War. After serving his country, he returned to Sul Ross to earn his Masters. 

 

Ben stayed in west Texas working in agriculture and the oil industry. He had many hobbies but was most interested in anything that had to do with horses.  Ben was a man of few words but what he said, he meant.  He was known to have a great sense of humor. You knew if Ben was teasing you, he loved you! He loved giving people a hard time.

 

Ben loved spending time with his beloved wife of 33 years, Linda Webb. He loved his family, his many dear friends, and his dogs and horses.

 

Ben was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Fred Webb, and sister-in-law Shirley Webb. He is survived by his wife, Linda of Bakersfield, TX; Son Cade Schneemann and his wife Ollie and their sons, Prather and Carter of Bakersfield; Daughter Leslea Charlesworth, her husband Brent, and their daughters Colee and Emilee of Marathon, TX; Sister Nancy Webb of Collinsville TX; Sister Patty McDonnell and husband Greg of Collinsville TX. Ben was also loved by many nieces and nephews.

 

A memorial service will be held at Shaffer Nichols Funeral Home in Crane, Texas on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at 2:00 PM.
