RANKIN: Barbara Evans, 71 of Rankin, passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at the Midland Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 20th, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Rankin with Reverends Jim Medley and Matt Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Rankin Cemetery with arrangements under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of Crane.
Barbara was born on September 28, 1938 in Anson, Texas to R.L. and Atha Carter. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Rankin. She had lived in Rankin for 44 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherwin Evans on October 13, 2001.
She is survived by her sons, Lynn Evans and his wife Virginia, Coy Evans, and Danny Evans all of Rankin; two daughters, Carol Evans Yoder and her husband Irvin, and Deanna Goff and her husband Jerry, all of Rankin; three brothers, Jerry Carter of Abilene, R.L. Carter, Jr. of Stamford, and Tommy Carter of Mineral Wells; 10 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
