Arvil Farmer

November 4, 1942 — December 8, 2017

Arvil Chestine Farmer Jr., faithful believer and servant to our Lord Jesus Christ, was welcomed at the heavenly gates by the love of his life, Jackie Lynn Farmer, on December 8th 2017. Arvil’s life will be celebrated at Shaffer Nichols Funeral Home Chapel on December 15th 2017 @ 10:00 am in Crane Texas.
Arvil was born in Shamrock Texas on November 1942 to Arvil Chestine Farmer Sr. and Flora Mozell Farmer. In his early years Flora raised Arvil and his two siblings alongside numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. They grew to be a large loving family with strong ties still to this day. Arvil met the love of his life in the summer of 1962. One of his favorite stories was when he took Jackie Lynn Hicks to meet his mother and then upon returning home from taking Jackie home, Flora told him “ I think she’s the one for you” and Arvil told her “I know mom, that’s why I asked her to marry me tonight” to which Flora replied with a big ol grin “Oh you did”.
Arvil and Jackie married in January of 1963. He and Jackie with their first child moved to Crane Texas in 1968. Arvil immediately started working the oil and gas fields for a number of companies in various capacities, mechanic, truck driver, electrician and instrumentation, plant operator and finally gas measurement. He did every job possible to ensure his family never wanted.
Arvil loved to hunt, fish, play golf but his greatest love was having his children and grandchildren around he and Jackie. Arvil and Jackie moved to Breckenridge Texas, Hubbard Creek Lake to enjoy their retirement years. Arvil lost the love of his life on July 22, 2010.
Arvil is survived by his children Mike Farmer and wife (Crane, TX.), Marie Elhi (Cottage Grove, OR.) Billy Farmer (Colorado City, TX). Eight grandchildren, Ten greatgrandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Brother Ronnie Farmer and wife (Hale Center, TX.) Numerous nieces and nephews.
Our family’s hearts aches, but we know that he is with our mom now and they are together with their savior for eternity.
Please accept Arvil and his family’s heart felt gratitude and thanks to all family, friends, Doctors, nurses and caregivers. Your kindness and caring were noted and so appreciated.
