Anita Louise Smith

August 3, 1938 — April 20, 2017

On April 20, 2017 Anita Louise Smith, 78, of Big lake,
formerly of Iraan, TX, went to be with her heavenly father
and her loving husband, Royce.
She was born in Austin, TX on August 3, 1938 to A.G. and Beatrice Black. She is preceded in death by her parents and dear sister Ann Rogers.
Anita is survived by 1 son, Ed Hicks and wife Robin of Hurricane, WV; 3 daughters Sandy Turner and husband Clarke of Big Lake, Philda Morrison and husband Tom of Granbury, Dee Hunt and husband Jim of Douglas, WY; 11 grandchildren, 18 great­ grandchildren; and 2 special nieces, Kathy Hearn and Susan Mirike of San Angelo.
She retired from the Iraan Independent School District in 2009, after 29 years of service. Besides her family, Anita loved golfing, fishing, raising turtles and watching hummingbirds.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Reagan County Care Center, Dr. Sudolcan, and Hospice for their loving care.

Graveside services were held on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Restland Cemetery in Iraan, TX.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to charity of choice, Reagan County Care Center of Big Lake, or Hospice.
