Cecil Allen "Andy" Andrews passed away August 21, 2018 in Odessa, TX.

He was born to Leigh and Bain Andrews on June 6, 1946 in San Angelo, TX. Andy grew up in Big Lake, TX graduating from Reagan County High School in 1964. He attended Southwest Texas State University and graduated in 1968 with a Bachelors degree in Language Arts. After graduation he was employed as a teacher/coach at Reagan County I.S.D for five years, Buena Vista ISD (Imperial) for eight years, and McCamey ISD for 24 years. While in Imperial he met and married Mary Ruth Wilson on June 5, 1976. In 1980 their daughter Amy was born.

Andy retired from teaching in 2005 and continued to be involved with McCamey ISD by continuing to announce at the JR High and High School football games for many years, he was involved with keeping the books for basketball, announced for high school baseball games, among many more things. He loved volunteering at the school to help him keep in touch with the kids.
Andy was known for his encouraging words, continued support of young people, he always had positive things to say no matter the situation. He was an avid baseball fan, trivia buff, loved old western movies, and all sports.

Andy was preceded in death by his Father and Mother Leigh and Bain Andrews; brother in law, Bob Steinberg

He is survived by his loving wife Mary Ruth "Ruthie" Andrews; his daughter Amy Andrews Salinas and her husband Jay Salinas; sister Lynda Steinberg; brother Clyde Newberry; granddaughters Emily and her husband Jordan Irizarry, Marina Salinas, and Madison Salinas; and many nephews and nieces.
